Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, so it has a huge market potential for the halal industry. Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance mandates that products entering, circulating and being traded in Indonesian territory must be halal certified. The assurance of the halal products implementation aims to provide comfort, security, safety and certainty of the availability of halal products for the public in consuming and using products, as well as increasing added value for business actors in producing and selling halal products.
To support the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Law and the Indonesian Government's program to become the number one producer of halal products in the world, LPH Center for Standardization and Services for the Leather, Rubber and Plastic Industry (LPH BBSPJIKKP) has officially been accredited by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH) as an LPH with qualification as Pratama and is currently in the accreditation process to become Utama with National and International work area coverage.
