Supporting the Acceleration of Industry 4.0 and Reducing GHG Emissions, CLRP Launched a Professional Certification Body, a Greenhouse Gas Validation/Verification Body, and an Inspection Body
Yogyakarta, 30 November 2023 – The Center for Standardization and Services for the Leather, Rubber and Plastic Industry (CLRP) held a Dissemination of Professional Certification Services as well as the Launching of a Professional Certification Body (LSP), a Validation/Verification Body (LVV), and an Inspection Body (LI) on Thursday (30/11 ). The activity, which was held at the Sahid Raya Hotel & Convention, Depok Sleman, was attended by industry representatives in the leather, rubber and plastic sectors, associations and government agencies.
Head of the Standardization and Industrial Services Policy Agency (BSKJI) of the Ministry of Industry, Andi Rizaldi, emphasized that in order to further improve the performance of the national manufacturing industry, the Ministry of Industry is committed to continuing to develop the technical services needed in the industrial world. For example, providing problem solving for the industrial world, expanding the implementation of industry 4.0 and green industry, as well as efforts to support decarbonization through Green House Gas validation and verification.
"This support is realized in the establishment of the Professional Certification Body (LSP), Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Body (LVV) and Inspection Body (LI) in 2023," he said.
According to Andi, industrial development needs to pay attention to the value chain, where industrial companies must be able to produce output that has added value. "Thus, the government is obliged to advance industrial technology, one of which is by mastering industry 4.0, including green industry and increasing the competency of industrial human resources," he said.
Government support for Industry 4.0 has been reflected in the implementation of several regulations, including the issuance of a Minister of Industry Regulation regarding the measurement of the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) and a Decree of the Minister of Manpower which is a reference in determining the workforce competencies needed to form managers and engineers and maintainer of industrial transformation 4.0.
"Recognition of competency for the profession, especially the Industrial Transformation Manager 4.0 as an agent of change in the company, is very important to do through competency tests from LSPs licensed by BNSP," he explained. In this effort, CLRP launched a new service in the form of providing Professional Certification for Coordination of Industry 4.0 Transformation Cluster scheme.
Head of CLRP, Hagung Eko Pawoko said that LSP CLRP is the only LSP capable of providing this new service. Other services are the Coordination of Crumb Rubber Production Process Cluster scheme and the Dryer Machine Operation Cluster scheme.
"Regarding the achievement of the GHG emission reduction target of 29% to 41% by 2030, we are ready to support the achievement of this target, by providing Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification services recognized by National Accreditation Committee (KAN) BSN," he said.
The scope of LVV is Organizational Verification for the general manufacturing sector, general waste handling and destruction and Project Validation and Verification for the manufacturing industry sector and the waste handling and destruction sector.
Hagung added, this year CLRP has also established an Inspection Body (LI) accredited by KAN with register number LI-210-IDN, with the scope of lighting intensity and noise intensity. Inspection activities are carried out based on SNI ISO/IEC 17020:2012 and are an effort to fulfill Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 5 of 2018 concerning Occupational Safety and Health in the Work Environment. One of the CLRP’s LI experiences is providing inspection and testing services for plastic packaging sacks in collaboration with BULOG.
"The presence of LSP, LVV and LI services from CLRP is good news for all industry players, as a proof of the real role of the Ministry of Industry in meeting industrial development needs in realizing an independent, competitive and advanced industry as mandated by law," he explained. .
