Halal Certificate is an acknowledgment of a product’s halalness issued by BPJPH based on a written halal fatwa or determination of product’s halalness by the Fatwa Commission of MUI, Provincial MUI, Regency/City MUI, Aceh Ulama Consultative Council, or Halal Product Fatwa Committee. – UU No. 6 Tahun 2023 –

• Halal Label is the sign which indicates product’s halalness. The Halal label must be included on the product packaging, certain parts of the product, and/or certain places of the product after obtaining a halal certificate. For restaurant outlets, the halal label is placed only on outlets that are within the scope of the issued halal certificate. The Halal label is determined by BPJPH. - UU No. 33 Tahun 2014 -
• The Indonesian halal label is a series consisting of the Indonesian Halal Logo accompanied by a Halal Certificate number displayed in one unit. The previous halal label can still be used until February 2 2026 in order to use up packaging stock. - Kep.Ka. BPJPH No. 88 Tahun 2022 -

LPH or Halal Inspection Agency is an institution that carries out inspection and/or testing activities on the halalness of products based on standards set by BPJPH including checking the validity of documents and inspecting products at business locations during the production process. LPH must be accredited by BPJPH. - PP 39 Tahun 2021 dan PMA No. 12 Tahun 2021 -

• Halal Decree (KH) or Halal Product Determination Decision is a determination of product halalness issued by the MUI or the Halal Product Fatwa Committee as the basis for issuing a halal certificate.
• A Halal Certificate is an acknowledgment of the halalness of a product issued by BPJPH based on a written halal fatwa or determination of product halalness.

So, if your product has just received a Halal Decree then the certification process has not been completed. There is still one more stage, namely the issuance of halal certification by BPJPH so that the halal certificate number is issued and you can attach a halal label.

Currently, the Halal Certificate is valid from the time it is issued by BPJPH and remains valid as long as there is no change in the composition of the ingredients and/or process of the halal product. In case there is a change in the composition of ingredients and/or the halal product process (PPH), the Business Actor is obliged to renew the Halal Certificate. - UU No. 6 Tahun 2023 -
